John Roth

John has a Ph.D. in Classics from New York University. As a consultant to McKinsey & Co., he contributed the research on mentoring to the book, The War for Talent, by Michaels, Handfield-Jones, and Axelrod (Harvard Business School Press, 2001). His Ph.D. dissertation is Speech Acts and The Poetics of Manhood: The “Lies” of Odysseus. He has taught classics for four decades at independent schools, including ten years at the McCallie School, a boys secondary school in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
