A new study from timeshare resale marketplace, SellMyTimeshareNow.com, identifies Texas as the state where timeshare owners report the highest satisfaction in the U.S.
The research analysed monthly Google searches to determine which states are the most content with their vacation properties. Searches indicating a desire to sell or move on from a timeshare ownership were scaled against populations to calculate the interest per 100,000 residents.
The statistics released show that Texas makes just 3.01 monthly Google searches per 100,000 residents for terms related to selling or moving on from a timeshare. This suggests the state’s residents are the most satisfied with their timeshare purchases.
Louisiana follows closely in second place with 3.02 similar searches per 100,000 residents, showing virtually identical satisfaction levels to Texas. Oklahoma rounds out the top three with 3.14 Google searches per 100,000 people.
Ohio is fourth with 3.16 monthly Google searches per 100,000 residents, while Michigan completes the top five with 3.24 searches. Indiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, and Wisconsin round out the rest of the top ten states for timeshare satisfaction..
The South emerged as a stronghold for timeshare satisfaction, with six of the ten highest-ranking states—Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Alabama—located in the region.

An expert at SellMyTimeshareNow.com commented on the findings:
“The southern states consistently show fewer searches for options to sell or move on from a timeshare ownership, which suggests residents there are more content with their purchases. This may be due to benefits such as having a guaranteed vacation spot each year, perfect for those who enjoy routine, and the feeling of community that comes from revisiting the same resorts and destinations.
“For those considering a timeshare purchase, it’s worth looking at how current owners in your state feel about their ownership. Buyers in some states will ask more questions about usage patterns, maintenance fees, and resale options before committing, so it’s important to be able to alleviate their concerns.”
