Not long ago the dating ritual was something that all single people looked forward to. A typical date night could be anything from dinner and a movie to a morning hike then brunch. In most cases men were expected to pay for the date. A first date back to a movie would cost him $10 to $15. And, if you look far enough back admission to a drive-in covered an entire carload of people, you can see why date night wasn’t really that big of a deal.
Fast forward to 2018. Depending on where you live there are no more drive-in-theaters. Therefore, if a man wants to take a woman to dinner and a movie, it is not as easy, nor affordable as it used to be. Today a movie ticket plus snacks can easily run you $50, and that’s without dinner. The prices are outrageous! And, with the way the economy is today, perhaps men are not single because they want to be, but more so because they are just too broke to date.
It is almost impossible for ordinary single people to go out and have a good time. And, while wealthy people have no problem footing the bill for a night out on the town, average working class find it difficult to afford the typical dating scenario. This is when creative date ideas can help.
Creative Date Ideas for Guys On A Budget
Today women are all too familiar with the economic turmoil. In fact, most women expect to foot half of the bill on a first or second date. That said; do not let being broke stop you from asking a woman out, and taking her out on a date. Granted, there are some women who still prefer a guy to pay for the entire first date. However, if you are savvy enough, you can make the first date memorable and fun!
There are plenty things you can do to have a good time on a first date with someone you like, and it doesn’t have to break the bank either. For starters, if you really want to get to know the woman you asked out on a first date you can ask her out to a coffee shop. No, you don’t have to like or drink coffee; neither does she. However, you can enjoy the convenience of sitting at a café over a cup of coffee, water or tea while you get to know the woman you asked on a first date. Here’s a tip if you do choose a coffee shop/café: Choose something other than Starbucks. There are great coffee shops around other than the chain café’s. Choose one that has a history or character. You can even look for one with cool comfy couches so you can sit comfortably while you get to know each other.
Another first great idea you can try, depending on where you live and weather permitting, is a walk through the park. If she’s a nature girl she will really appreciate this. Plus it can be pretty darn romantic to go on a first date through a beautiful park. To make it extra special, plan or pack a picnic. You can bring simple things like some wine, cheese and crackers. Or you can find a deli that offers good prepared food and take that along. This will cost you very little money. However, it will score high points on a woman’s first date scale.
There are so many other things you can do to impress a woman on a first date, and you don’t have to be rich or worry about being broke to do them. The ideas I listed are just a few. However, to get more great date ideas here’s a 100 Creative Date Ideas you can try for less than $20. If you have tried any of these on the list, be sure to leave a comment below letting us know how the date experience turned out. I’d love to hear about it, and your fellow men would too. Happy Dating!
