Still the rains come, storm after storm lashes these Atlantic hinterlands. Emma, Felix, now Giselle and soon Hugo. These great gyres track across the ocean, spiralling and lifting more water into their gravid and swollen bellies. Inexorably they move toward the huddled populace, unleashing torrents from fretting wrack. It is though, nothing more than a rebalancing of the long dry years.
