As the UK careens headlong towards a Brexit schedule that has caused nothing but fear and confusion nationwide, it’s time to ask who is Brexit really for?
Theresa May initially triggered the Brexit process on the 29th of March 2017. This took place after the national referendum on June 23rd 2016. As the clock ticks down to leaving the EU on March 29th 2019, the UK has no idea what’s happening. Will they be leaving the EU with no deal, a bad deal or choosing to remain as an EU member?
Can you imagine anything crazier? It is now just over a month until that deadline and still the outcome isn’t clear. May is simply running down the clock with her dithering and ineffective negotiations. This is so those who oppose Brexit have little power to influence the outcome.
Now the UK is considering a second referendum to see if the nation will still vote leave. Yes, even at this late stage. This is the madness taking place over a referendum result that won by the smallest of margins (51.9 percent voted leave.)
Corporations, small and medium-sized businesses and nationalised industries are preparing for a worst-case scenario. The ordinary British Citizen? Well, they’re just hanging on for dear life.
It needs to be stated that those who voted in favour of Brexit were the victims of the exact same manipulation and Infowars tactics that got Trump elected.
The big red bus.
Even now you hear stories of the big red bus that the Conservative party used to promote the benefits of leaving the EU (inspired by the then Secretary of State, Boris Johnson.) The message on the side of the big red bus stated that the UK paid £350 million pounds a week to the EU. In fact, the amount should have said £350 million pounds a year. But what’s wrong with a little disingenuous rhetoric for a good cause?
That friendly symbol of Britishness and sovereignty stated that this money could be put towards saving the National Health Service. This, instead of going to those controlling members of the EU. No mention of course, of how many British charities and foundations rely on EU funding. Nor how much money Britain gets back from the EU every year.
It’s important to bear in mind that the NHS, the UK’s free healthcare service has been wilfully underfunded by the Conservative party for years as they seek to privatise its services.
So rather than owning their true objective, the Conservative party instead blamed their underfunding of the NHS, on the money the UK has to contribute to the EU. This, of course, has left the party’s hands tied. Genius bit of politicking there don’t you think?
The trail of disinformation continues.
Following that disinformation then there was the familiar roar of: ‘These immigrants are taking your jobs!‘ The usual nonsense that we see trailing out of Europe and the US like dummy smoke signals. Or should that be smoke signals for dummies?
Either way, this narrative is particularly effective amongst those citizens who feel that their nations are not as good (white) as they used to be.
‘Bloody foreigners!’ is their familiar war cry.
Those foreigners being the ones that staff our hospitals, work in building industries and fast-food restaurants, just to be clear. The same foreigners who tend to work twice as hard for less pay.
‘They’re making us look bad!’ is the clarion call.
So of course, when these naïve nationalist citizens are targeted in Infowars campaigns, they’re already primed to vote in favour of Leave.
Repeating endlessly, how foreigners and migrants are ruining the country and taking advantage of the system, is a boss move. Hey, it worked for Hitler and Mussolini right? Add in media platforms divided into left, centrist and right-wing rhetoric and the battle for supremacy (usually white supremacy) is in full flow.
Are May and Trump in collusion?
Theresa May and her platform is the UK’s version of the Trump debacle. And just like everything that’s traditionally British, she’s highly understated in her agenda. It’s the same agenda as that taking place in America, but it’s done so politely.
You won’t hear May speaking of rapists and drug gangs in order to win her base over. No, she’ll remain quintessentially English (not British.) Totally understated in her approach. Simply hinting in dulcet and well-pronounced tones, how those bloody foreigners in the EU are telling us how to run OUR country.
She presents herself as the voice of reason against the rabidly left-wing, communistic and anti-nationalist ideals of Jeremy Corbyn (the UK’s opposition leader) and his unwashed ilk. Never mind that Jeremy Corbyn also wants to leave the EU-for different reasons it has to be said, but that truth doesn’t fit her agenda.
Again, in typically British form, May is simply the figurehead for a deeper poison taking place in British politics. Her fellow Conservative leaders such as Boris Johnson and cabinet minister Michael Gove are the buffoon and sinister cartoon character respectively, whose strings are being pulled by far-right influencers such as Steve Bannon.
Cambridge Analytica turns up everywhere.
Cambridge Analytica, the company at the heart of the Facebook scandal, is also at the heart of the disinformation shared in the Brexit campaign. No surprise there. When you start to follow the sordid breadcrumbs, lots of things become clear.
What becomes most clear is that Brexit and the Trump presidency, appear to be part of a global campaign intended to incite hatred, division and feelings of powerlessness amongst the populace of many nations.
The more you look, the more you’ll see that these are the perfect pre-conditions for those who control systems of government globally. They are the pre-conditions that start simultaneous international conflicts and terror wars. All in search of greater profits and even more power. Of course, this is nothing new. Same old tactics, different time.
So spare a thought for the British and US puppets being controlled by these international puppeteers. But before you do that, spare a thought for all of us whose lives are in the hands of these crazy and power-hungry puppet masters.
