The men (and women) we date help build us. They teach us what we want, what we don’t want, and what we’ll never settle for again. Everyone we date helps shape us into who we are and leaves us with lifelong lessons.
Here are five guys every woman should date in her lifetime.
1. The Nice Guy
He’s the guy who texts you back right away. He’s the guy who opens doors and walks on the outside of the sidewalk for your safety. He carries the groceries inside for your mom and helps your dad with the yardwork.
Even if he’s not the one you’re meant to end up with, he’ll teach you that chivalry isn’t dead and that you deserve to be treated with respect. He sets the bar high for all of the other guys to come.
2. The Bad Boy
If you ever had a crush on Shawn from Boy Meets World, then you know exactly the type. He’s a bit of a rebel, and he might have a rap sheet, but deep inside, he has a big heart. We’re more likely to encounter him when we’re young.
He’ll probably break your heart, but he’ll also show you how exciting love can be on the back of a motorcycle or cruising in a convertible.
He’s not the one you’ll end up with, but he’ll probably make for a lot of fun firsts. He’ll teach you to get outside the box when it comes to making memories with the guy you’re meant to be with. And he’ll teach you a valuable lesson: boundaries.
3. The Rich Guy
Now, I’m not saying that you need to find someone as rich as Mark Cuban. What I am saying is that every woman should date a guy who has it together financially. He’ll be ambitious, stable, and polished.
He’s the guy who will give you a taste of the finer things in life. He’ll show you how much fun it can be to get dressed up for a date night. He might even take you on luxury trips or make some of your bucket list items come true.
If he’s not the one, he still comes with a powerful lesson: Luxury is nice, but emotional availability and connection are so much more valuable.
4. The Nerdy Guy
He’s the guy who gets just as excited talking about history, comic books, and aliens as he does when talking about you.
He’ll take you out for trivia nights and museum dates. The nerdy guy will introduce you to documentaries you didn’t even know existed.
The takeaway? Attraction is about more than only looks.
5. The Boring Guy
The boring guy might want to spend more time at home than out on the town, but he offers a lot of other benefits. He’s the one who offers you stability and security. He’s an anchor, a lighthouse that keeps you going. He’s the one you know you can always lean on. He’ll be your biggest cheerleader.
In him, most women will find peace after all of the chaos. And for that reason, the boring guy is often “the one.” And if he’s not, he’ll teach you that calm and boring can be really great in its own way.
The Bottom Line
Every woman’s journey to finding the love of her life is different. But these five types of guys will help you learn more about yourself, love, and life. And if you’re lucky, maybe you’ll find your forever guy within one of these five guys.
