When it happens to you, it’s much harder to simply pack up and leave than it is to advise someone else to end their relationship with a cheater. However, occasionally escaping could be the wisest course of action.
Even if it’s increasingly normal these days to forgive a cheater, the scenario can still negatively impact your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Here are a few reasons you might want to end a relationship with a cheater:
1. You Endanger Your Well-being
Although it’s apparent and you’ve undoubtedly heard it a million times before, you should still give this reason some serious thought. You run a higher risk of contracting illnesses if your partner has cheated even once or is a habitual adulterer. It’s possible that your partner was engaging in risky sex with other women, gathering all the disgusting, and bringing them home to you. So ask yourself, is he worth risking your life for?
2. He Will Cheat Again
If you let him go again, you’re telling him there are no repercussions for what he did. Even if you force that guy to promise never to cheat again, he will continue to do so because he knows you would always turn your back on him. After all, why wouldn’t you welcome him back if he cheated once and you did? “Once a cheater, always a cheater,” as the proverb goes. Therefore, don’t be shocked if he cheats once more.
3. You Know He’s Been Intimate With Someone Else
It can be incredibly taunting to imagine the person you love touching and having a sexual relationship with someone else. You’ll always imagine that everything he does with you is what he did with the other lady whenever you have a sexual encounter. And because “you shouldn’t bring up previous concerns,” you suffer alone in this. Contrast what you are provided with what you are worth.
4. You’ve Lost Trust
Without it, there would be no reason to be in a relationship, which is why trust is the foundation of all relationships. When you stop believing in your mate, your relationship suffers. You’ll come off as the crazy person who is constantly watching him and doubting everything he says. Trust is difficult to regain, if not impossible, in the long run.
5. He Doesn’t Love You
The truth is that respect is the cornerstone of love, even though that may be the last thing you want to hear. One of the gravest forms of disrespect is when someone cheats on you. Respecting someone is a must for loving them. He shouldn’t even entertain the idea of being with someone.
