I alone am not going to save the world. The earth and all the cosmos may well be on a trajectory not visible and not comprehensible to a mere mortal human.
But here is how I make a difference, every day:
- I try to be a decent human.
- I do my best to impart to my son a basic foundation that will allow him to be a decent human.
- I am kind, respectful and supportive of my long-term (female if that matters) partner.
- I am kind, respectful, and maintain a decent working relatioship with my ex-wife. Despite everything.
- I have an inclusive circle of friends that keep me grounded and in touch with diverse opinions.
- I have opinions of my own, strong opinions, but I don’t expect every person to share them.
- I treat everyone at work with respect, even when it would be easier to lash out.
- I contribute financially, when I can, to worthy, LOCAL, causes.
- More importantly, I contribute time and energy to local charities.
- I don’t waste food.
- I recycle.
- I create listicles.
- I drink too much.
So, no. I’m not saving the world. But I’m doing my part.
How about you? How are you saving the world?
