I’m a mom of one child, Alexia “Lexi” Mae, who is ten months old and wife to husband Zach, who is an accountant and budding entrepreneur. We went to business school together and love working on side businesses with each other!
After receiving my coaching certification from John Maxwell, one of the top leadership gurus in the world, I started my journey as a coach, teacher, and speaker. Now, I’m the primary caregiver for our family and work part-time as a joyful living blogger and Empowerment Speaker. I help people build confidence and achieve success through positive thinking and recognition of self-worth! I also enjoy hiking, traveling, lake trips, snowmobiling, snowboarding, hosting parties and soccer.
Quote.
Our biggest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our biggest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? – Marianne Williamson
What I do well as a mom.
I have learned to spend quality time with my daughter, by putting my phone away and not allowing for too many distractions. I also do well at getting outside and exploring the beauty of nature with her.
What I learned from another mom.
Take care of you first. When you feel tired, moody, hungry or dehydrated, it’s okay to take time off as a parent and refuel your mind and body. Staying healthy will help you to take better care of your baby.
Lesson learned from my child.
Experiencing the world from a state of complete wonder can be so exhilarating. My daughter loves exploring, learning, and laughing until she can hardly breathe. When I see her zest for life, her looks of joy and wonder, and her sweet personality, I am so inspired to savor all the little moments in life and make memories that will last.
Successful motherhood moment.
I used to compare myself to other moms online because I really wanted to be a perfect mom. I finally realized comparing my mothering style to other moms was making me super stressed and unhappy. One day I decided to quit reading about other moms on the internet. Instead, I relied on my instincts, and if I needed advice, I turned to my family and friends. In so doing, my confidence grew, and I became a much happier mom.
Mom I admire.
My mom, Katherine Eisenhut. I admire the way she learned to work past her depression and anxiety to focus on creating a happy life for her family. I also love that she always played music in the house and decorated beautifully in order to make the home our favorite place to be. She is also really good at listening to me and helping me talk through my personal challenges.
