Michael Montlack writes of celebrities, drag queens, oral sex, and other ho-hum things.
Dickorum
Decorum: noun. The dignified propriety of behavior, speech, dress, etc.
Dickorum: The not-so dignified propriety of behavior, speech, dress for (and between) SOME gay men.
Dickorum was adopting that queer world-weary nonchalance—shedding the awe you
might have once felt about anything out of the ordinary or downright lewd: Like that
manic spandex-clad drag queen whose tuck came undone during her first number,
blowjobs happening in the restroom (with the stall door open), the colorful butt plug
collection arranged to form a rainbow over the jukebox, Debbie Harry or Sandra Bernhard
lounging on the sofa across from yours. It should all appear whateverly to you. Not worth
mentioning. In fact you should appear whateverly. Appear like you wonder why you even
appeared here in the first place. Like you will disappear as soon as the drag queen finishes
her set.
Because Dickorum also Dicktates that a drag performance, whether polished or pathetic,
always deserves your attention, even if for the sole purpose of pitying her afterward.
