Filmmaker Daniel Sorochkin tells the story of Ben, a guy who plans to propose to his long-time girlfriend, Laura.
On the big night, he asks the fancy restaurant to bring the ring out hidden inside the dessert.
There’s one problem: the waiter took it to the wrong table.
The man who gets it is the restaurant owner’s brother, Mike. And when Mike’s girlfriend, Hannah, finds the ring, she immediately says yes.
Ben confronts Mike in the bathroom, but Mike doesn’t return it — he’s decided to go along with it because Hannah’s dad owns “half the buildings in New York.”
Mike even tries to buy Ben’s silence by offering to give him a building.
With each escalation, Ben grows increasingly upset until Laura has a breakdown. Finally, Ben brings Laura to confront Mike and Hannah and propose a way unlike any other.
