I’m a dad of 4 children. I understand what a privilege it is to have children and try my best to make my kids’ childhood a really happy one. I have been married to my amazing wife (Rosie) for almost 15 years and can’t believe how blessed our marriage has been and what a blessing she is to the children and me. I am a radiographer by trade, which has given us the opportunity to move from the UK to New Zealand. I’m also the founder of the Daddy Sphere Blog. I created it to write about the humorous chronicles of my family and show parents how I create and enjoy a fun time with my kids. I am also an avid reader and writer and am currently setting up a parenting course extolling the virtues of having fun as a family.
A father should be his son’s first hero and his daughter’s first love. ~Unknown
What I do well as a dad.
I am a practical joker and enjoy making my kids laugh. I teach my kids not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the fun moments as often as possible.
What I learned from another dad.
Your children are only young for such a short period of time that you should take every opportunity to engage with them.
Lesson learned from my child.
Life is sometimes a lot more simple than we, as adults, make it.
Successful fatherhood moment.
My second child has a severe hearing impairment and diagnosed with high functioning autism. I was fearful for his future and my role as a parent. I feel proud that I’ve embraced him for who he is and strive to help him make his life as normal as possible.
Dad I admire.
Aside from my own father and I have enormous admiration for a guy named Michael Matia. He works incredibly hard to provide for his boys. I’m certain that there are other more profitable paths he could have chosen, but he wants to instill in his kids a great work ethic.
