I truly wonder how you feel comfortable chatting or picking up midnight calls from female students—girls who haven’t even graduated, who are still in secondary school, still in your care.
What are you discussing with them at that hour?
You say it’s nothing serious—just friendly chats. But if it were really “just chats,” why aren’t you smiling that way when you chat with your male students?
Why don’t you spend those same long hours checking on the boys too?
You laugh with her. You chat with her.
And slowly… she begins to fall for you—even if that was never your intention.
She’s a child. Fragile. Vulnerable. Impressionable.
Before you know it, her heart is tangled up in feelings she can’t even explain, and she starts thinking about you more than her books. Her focus slips. Her goals shift. And she begins to crave your attention more than her future.
And you?
You lose respect.
Not just in her eyes, but in the eyes of other students and other teachers.
Because through those chats, you lower your walls. You expose your weaknesses. You become “familiar.”
And when a student becomes too familiar with a teacher, discipline becomes difficult. Boundaries blur.
How do you correct a girl who now sees you as her “friend”?
How do you stand in front of a class and teach confidently when you know there’s someone in that seat who now sees you differently?
Let me tell you this:
Even if your heart is clean, you are still planting dangerous seeds.
Seeds of confusion. Seeds of distraction. Seeds that can destroy futures—yours and hers.
So please, stop chatting privately with female students late at night.
Stop answering unnecessary calls. Stop entertaining what could someday become your greatest regret.
Be a teacher. Not a temptation.
Be a mentor. Not a memory someone will cry over.
You’re not just a man. You’re a model. A mirror. A molder of destinies.
Please, don’t ruin that sacred trust.
Draw the line. And stay behind it.
For her sake. For your own.
And, for the honor of this noble profession we swore to uphold.
