Sometimes we have a dream in our heart that no one else understands.
Its significance to us cannot be fully realized by anyone else.
The importance of what we have in our heart for our dreams only we know.
No one else besides you, knows or understands your deepest desires.
They can never really know what is deeply rooted in your heart.
Your dreams may not be logical to anyone else.
When you try to explain to others, even those that are closest to you, it may not make sense.
You might sound like you’ve lost your mind!
But you don’t have to justify what you truly want in life. Your life passion is one that only you will feel the strongest.
Others may tell you, you don’t need that in your life.
…
If you want to start your own business and it sounds like a pipe dream to others, you might be told “Forget about it. Keep your safe 9–5 job. Why would you do that?”
If you want to get married and it hasn’t worked out so far, well-meaning friends may tell you “Just focus on something else, work on yourself, and forget about it. Enjoy being single. Move on.”
If you want to move across the country or across the world, your close friends might talk you out of it. They say to you, “Why would you want to leave? Stay here, your whole life is here. Why would you want to leave everything behind?”
We might start to believe it when someone close to us says “Well, it’s been too long, it’s too late for you, you should have done it sooner, now you’re too old.”
When we hear these things we start to doubt ourselves. We start to focus on the negative because their reasoning sounds logical.
In our mind we start to think they could be right. Maybe our dream is too far out there. Maybe we should just give it up.
Sometimes we focus on what has gone wrong up to this point with trying to get our dreams off the ground. When we hear the naysayers we start to believe what they tell us about giving up on our dreams.
We might focus on the pain of past regrets and what we have done wrong in the past that was a barrier to our dreams getting accomplished.
We are almost convinced that we just should forget about what we’re dreaming of.
Sometimes we just get tired because it may have been a long time and we haven’t achieved that dream yet. We are tired of waiting.
We feel like maybe it’s passed us by if it hasn’t happened yet.
…
But…
All of that nonsense is for quitters, those of little resilience. It is not for the dreamers who continue to dream their future dreams.
No one else has the power to give up on your dreams, but you.
You have to decide for yourself what makes you happy. You don’t need to justify this to anyone.
If you go along with what people think you should be doing and excessively people please, you won’t stay true to yourself. You eventually will end up being bitter, resentful, and unfulfilled.
This will erode you as a person slowly, over time.
People give you advice based on what they would want themselves.
We are also so different. And this is what makes us unique. We wouldn’t want every person to be exactly the same anyway!
Don’t let others talk you out of your dream.
We have to stay true to ourselves and to our dreams.
