You know the cliché of when one door closes another one opens? I think that is what happened to me this week.
Do you listen to God? Do you listen to your gut? I believe that the two are tied together. Think of these two as your personal coaches. When the three of you are working together for a common good, then you can be unstoppable.

As I am sitting here in the home office writing, there is a gut feeling that something needs to change. That something is this series I have been doing for the past 7 weeks. Creating this weekly journal has helped me but I am not sure it is helping others. My sharing of becoming a man of faith has seemed, well, selfish in a sense.
Each week I write this column, my hope it helps you. However, if you actually like what you are reading and you do not share your feelings with me then my thought is that I am being very selfish.
Let me try and put it another way to help explain why my gut is telling me to make a change.
Doing a podcast is not a hobby for me. The podcast is a true joy every time I record an episode. Even though people rarely ever send me an email telling me that they like the podcast: it does not bother me. This is a pure love.
The flip side is that when I write either here or on my own website, I need feedback. With the podcast, I can see each day how many time people have downloaded it. Even when I send out my monthly newsletter I receive stats on who opened it and who did not.
Where is this going? You might ask. At this point, my gut is telling me that I need to move in a different creative writing direction.
What has God said? I am going to go for a walk and will bring it up. Let’s just say that if there is no column next week then you will know what both God and my gut advised me to do. If there is not an open door after this, then I will learn how to build one so I can then open it.
