How Can I Trust Again After Being So Hurt By a Narcissist?

Question: Allana, my heart is wounded but open. I’m connecting but not finding what I want yet. I was with a covert narcissist for over two years and I’m finding it really hard to trust anyone again. How would you guide and coach someone like me?

Answer: Beautiful sister, I totally hear you, acknowledge you and celebrate you that after a painful two year relationship with a covert narcissist, you have the courage to move forward and open your wounded heart.

If you’re connecting but not finding what you truly want yet, I would encourage you to consider that it’s because you’re ready for the next stage of healing your wounded heart. What if you’re finding it hard to trust anyone again because while your heart is opening… it isn’t truly open all the way… And for good reason.

It really comes down to science, if you open 60, 70, 80%… You receive 60, 70, 80% of an ideal match. The inner always creates the outer, every time, without exception. It’s like gravity. It works 100% of the time. Our life is always an out picturing of our inner beliefs.

I truly recommend you honor how far you’ve come… and choose to take a breather from dating for while to make your focus your intimate healthy connected relationship with Self. Wounds need attention… no one can create on top of an emotional trigger. Sprinkles on top of an ice cream cone of shit doesn’t work.

I’m the first to admit that I thought a good attitude, a smiling face and pushing harder would be the solution… but it only made things worse. What you resist persists. The only way through is to sit in the fire and heal to the core by addressing all negative programming/wounds.

Vulnerability is extraordinarily exquisite and the place of deepest intimate connection when two healed hearts come together… Yet vulnerability when attempted with a wounded heart can be tragic and feel like throwing salt in your wound if misused.
