I Am Really Loving MAGA Misogyny Right Now

If we thought that Donald Trump had no social interaction filters before, we are truly gobsmacked now that he calls female reporters “stupid, Piggy,” and “ugly” among many other insults. It’s a situation of being shocked but not surprised.

As his dementia worsens, people are paying more attention. As laws and norms are shattered, people are waking up. As people are divided, more are beginning to wonder if we might not be better off united.

Trump and MAGA have never hidden their sexism or racism. But now it is so incredibly visible that the old adage “It has to get worse before it gets better” is apt. Once just infamous for “grab ’em by pussy and when you are star they let you do it” remarks, the misogyny has become so in our faces that we must believe it’s gone too far. And calling people “garbage” also has its consequences.

If it has to get worse so it can finally get better, I am all for it.

As his “numbers” and “crowd size” falls, the MAGA people and all of us who love them wonder where all of this will lead. The release of the Epstein files and the courage of all sexual abuse victims will arrive in the consciousness of many families.

There are no families that are not touched by sexism, after all, just as there are no people unaffected by the many intersections of our colors, religions, roles, and patriotism.

Do not despair because the world has become so divided, outraged, messy and upside down. The desperation of the powerful is palpable. There is a political climate and a planetary climate that are clashing together like never before.

These are the times that try men’s souls. But women too, and it is more than apparent that more people want sanity, peace, fairness and security than ever before.
