I’m constantly on edge about certain things philosophically.
My ignorance to deeper thinking and historical wisdom led me to dark spots in myself and existential crisis.
Am I meant for something, or do I just romanticize the idea to numb myself to the hardships I face? The responsibilities of human culture and becoming something admirable despite my flaws?
Or…is that the necessity of deeper consciousness? Is it the deepest, oldest, most intuitive side of me, demanding to be let out?
What I do know, is that once you’ve pushed yourself past ignorance, rebelled against the embrace of the comforting hold of the mother, cut the rope that holds up the castle gate and ventured into the monsters’ territory, there is no going back.
No matter how painful you fail or how long you paralyze yourself.
…
Is consciousness the greatest tool the world has ever given to humanity?
Whether it was the moment Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge, or some gradual self-awareness made by a growing prefrontal cortex…it seems to have led to all things representing both good and evil.
Consciousness it seems to me, gave us an “awakeness” that helped us recognize our nakedness, our Self without the armor of ignorance, our ability to see our flaws. And in our attempt to remedy that, to re-cover the rawness of self-consciousness and insecurity, we made use of power, seduction, intimidation, persuasion, skill, sex, and collection of resources to cover ourselves back up.
Consciousness is the element we gained to create a world unrecognizable and beyond breathtaking in comparison to what Mother Nature started. It’s also what gave humanity, in all it’s power, the ability to bathe that same world in the blood of our own species and threaten its whole existence and all its progress with the input of a nuclear code.
To me, consciousness is the catalyst in which humanity moved beyond instinctual survival and foundational animal-like serenity and balance. It was what made the Human find both good and evil in itself, and by the battle of internal strength and external desperation for its needs, manifest that good or evil into the world in which peace and prosperity grew…or war and self-destruction.
Conscious still remains that insanely capacitive tool that makes or breaks every individual, and translates into the world as a whole.
The tool is a tool. It is neutral. Effective in both energies, given power only by man himself, and whether or not he acts for himself, or the good of the whole.
The war between having the strength to expose and accept his own nakedness, and the opposite inability of him to do so.
So, what does it say about us as single humans when we see the world sway in directions that make us fear our own existence and the intentions that lie behind our actions?
We are all a tiny, not-so-unimportant, highly influential piece of something larger which leads to either expanse and prosperity of all that we’ve built and become, or the de-evolution and dissolving of everything that we are, and have ever been.
…
And despite our nakedness.
Despite how we proceed.
Despite the chaos.
Despite our fear and dealing with this daunting consciousness.
We have to play.
How will you choose to do so?
Truth and Love, Reader.
