When I look at what the hell is happening in our country and the divide that we see, I immediately think about my ex-husband’s current wife. We share a daughter together so he and I still have a “relationship” and this includes with his current wife and children.
Prior to Trump becoming president, his wife and I had a decent relationship. Here’s a little backstory on her, that might help explain her irrational thoughts.
Darla was raised in Colorado City, Utah. This is home of the Polygamists that follow Warren Jeff’s and still practice plural marriage, underage marriage and incest marriage. She left the compound around 16 because she was obedient and following the ways of the profit. I am unsure of her education level but there are obvious things that she clearly doesn’t understand, and that includes politics.
Darla has been in a relationship with my ex-husband for at around 6 years. They seem to have a normal marriage and three kids together. Until Trump became president I really didn’t have many thoughts about her, she seemed genuine and average.
Fast-forward to the last 2 years, she has jumped on the Trump train and hard. I respect republicans and some of my closest friends are republicans however she is not the average republican. Prime example — last week as the capitol was being attacked my anti-government and some Trump supporter extremists, she said “I wish I could be there with you guys”. She legit wanted to be there, but went silent after things went south quickly.
My daughter, who is 13, and I were shocked. We both wondered what the hell is wrong with her and how could she want to be involved in such rage, destruction and disrespect on our country.
For the last 18-months she has posted about politics on any social platform she can, and 99% of the time being fact checked by Facebook and her posts removed. She constantly shares false information and really eggs on the anger and violence. She 100% is misrepresenting what the Republican Party is about. She doesn’t believe in any BLM movements or even in general but has zero education to back her claims.
Most recently when the President Elect Joe Biden won, she 100% agrees that it was a fake election that was cheated by the democrats. She has zero evidence or proof that this election was “fake” or “cheated”. Darla has encouraged and attending anti-mask protests and says that she doesn’t believe in COVID-19. She goes to the store without a mask and waits for an uncomfortable employee to ask her kindly to put it on.
The problem with people like her is she is teaching her children violence, hate and disrespect of authority. Whether you like it or not, Joe Biden is the next president of our country, and we should respect that. We should respect that everyone doesn’t agree on politics and that’s fine, what happened to the times when we could be friends with democrats, liberals and republicans?
My point in all of this is Darla, among others are spreading false information, and in doing so they are creating a bad reputation for republicans. They’re creating the gap between political parties and making the violence worse. They’re encouraging violence and even suggesting civil wars. Extremists such as Darla need to realize that most of us want the same things in the end, we just want to take different paths in the end.
At the end of the day, wrong is wrong. Not obeying the law or the rules does come with consequences no matter which political party you are with.
