Circumstances can be sad
Someone never knew you
You never had a voice
Choices were made for you
Exactly what you did not want to happen
Is exactly what did happen
But the power of being a victim
Is to know what the aggressor did not
The aggressor lived by fear
Continually fueling themselves
From the “power” of being their worst self
But the power of becoming the survivor
Is to know what the aggressor did not
To not define yourself
By standards someone else got wrong
But to define yourself
By the truths you were the one to discover
You don’t have to stay tied to the pain
By becoming the opposite of what caused it
You can be free from the pain
By becoming what is authentic to you
Fear and darkness and evil
Never have an advantage
When it comes to truth
Their power is based on manipulating
Making the false appear to be true
Making a seed of truth
Appear to be a landscape of it
Knowing the truth of who you are
Is a great resource indeed
Knowing the truth of the value you are worth
Is a great encouragement indeed
Knowing the truth of the depths of your dreams
Is a great guidance to your future indeed
Darkness cannot handle the truth
So that is why it tries to magnify small amounts
But when you do not share that fear of light
When authenticity is freedom versus hesitation
When you don’t have to hide
Because you know you are beautiful
Just as each of us are
Then you know the truth
That you were never small
That you will never compare again
There is only you
A very powerful soul
Ready to begin again.
You’ve got this!
Choosing Inside
By Andrea Wilburn
The best control to endeavor to have
Is that of your internal world
Not just doing the right things
But doing them from the right places
Many people are right enough in behavior
Yet never feel the fulfillment they should
What is tiresome
What is burdensome
What is constantly exhausting?
Even if all external challenges were quiet
Would you not persist in feeling the same?
We collect baggage throughout our lives
As if it will one day become an antique
Earning great income at an auction
But the only auction is selling off your dreams
As you convince yourself you must be loyal
To Supposed To Be’s and Never Happened’s
You don’t have to
It did happen
But it does not have to keep rehappening
As you either stay in that moment
Or hide it away until it bursts back out
Sometimes your brightest future
Is not building on the progress of your past
But recognizing the advantages of starting again
Reject the limiting beliefs that held you back
And resetting your innermost being
With gratitude for your lessons learned
And the confidence in your inherent worth
Choose what you believe
Choose kindness to yourself
Choose acknowledgement of patterns
The comfortable things that are familiar
But no longer encourage the way they used to
Choose intentional over responsive
Learn the source of why that jump endures
Choose loyalty to your self worth
When you know your value
External needs can moderate
And your internal world can more strongly support
Always always always
Choose what you believe
You’ve got this!
