Not the kind of fire that merely warms you from the outside, like a cozy blanket on a chilly night, but the kind that rages and consumes. The kind that makes you want to dance around it, feeling alive just because it’s there, crackling and roaring and making you forget everything except its blistering heat.
Because that’s what I want to be for you.
I want to burn so bright you can’t look away, to be the spark that lights up your darkest nights, the flame you can’t help but draw closer to even though you know it will hurt. I want you to feel me in the pit of your stomach, like the first sip of whiskey that burns all the way down but makes you crave another taste. I want to leave you breathless, standing in the aftermath, signed around the edges but aching for more.
It’s terrifying, this kind of love. It’s reckless, dangerous, like playing with matches when everything around you is made of dry wood. But I can’t help it. I don’t want to help it. I want to set everything ablaze and watch it burn, knowing that in the ashes of what was, something new can rise. Something we create together, from the wreckage of our fears and doubts, something that blazes with the intensity of a thousand stars.
I know it won’t be easy. I know it’ll hurt like hell, that there will be nights where we’ll both feel like we’re suffocating like the smoke is too thick, and we’re chocking on the very air we need to survive. There will be days when we’ll wonder if it’s worth it, if the fire between us is too fierce, too wild, if it’s burning us alive instead of bringing us closer. But I’m ready to risk it. I’m ready to take that chance because this — this thing between us — it’s worth the scars.
Set me on fire. Let me burn for you. I want to feel it all — the pain, the passion, the way you’ll look at me like I’m the only light in the universe. I want to be that light for you. I want to be the flame that guides you home, the fire that never dies, no matter how much the world tries to put it out.
Because this fire, this love, it’s not something that can be extinguished with a few drops of water or a gust of wind. It’s the kind of fire that burns deep within, that consumes everything in its path but leaves behind something beautiful, something powerful. It’s the kind of fire that changes you, that transforms you from the inside out, until you’re no longer the person you were before, someone new, someone stronger.
So set me on fire. Let me be the flame that ignite your soul, the inferno that burns away all your fears, all your doubts, until all that’s left is us, standing together in the blaze, our heart beating as one, our spirits intertwined, unbreakable.
Set me on fire, and watch me burn.
Burn for you. Burn for us.
Burn until there’s nothing left but the pure, raw, beautiful truth of who we are together.
Set me on fire, and I promise I’ll never let it got out.
