I like to say that life is a journey. And if we’re going on a trip, we necessarily need to pack a bag.
Let’s consider here that in your life’s suitcase, you’ll put the baggage you’ll take to the other side. After you die.
Many people, because they don’t know the destination of this journey, or don’t believe there is a destination, end up putting the wrong items in this suitcase, and spend the whole trip unhappy.
Not knowing what to put in your life’s suitcase is almost like packing a suitcase full of winter clothes to travel to Hawaii: you’ll arrive at your destination “naked.”
Have you ever stopped to think that we don’t really know the destination of life’s journey? But we can feel it.
We can feel it through our emotions, the pleasure and happiness we have when we do good for someone.
Or, the regret and hatred when we do evil.
I believe the destination of our journey is love. And not love without barriers. Without growth. But rather, the love that Jesus, Buddha, and other beings of light came to teach us.
Selfless love.
Imagine you’re going to die tomorrow:
What will you have saved in your baggage of learnings?
The trophies, diplomas, achievements, you won’t have them.
Nor will you have everything you have acquired materially.
Stop and think. Who were you when you were born, and who have you become?
Have you grown? Have you evolved? Have you sought your deepest pains and brought them to the light? Have you followed the law of love in all your actions, thoughts, and decisions?
Besides, do you know what your biggest and deepest flaws are?
Have you been working daily so that when you arrive “on the other side,” you carry the overcoming of them in your spiritual baggage?
It’s obvious that we can’t stop looking at our powerful version, to find strength to bring our shadow to light, but I don’t believe there is happiness without spiritual progress. After all, that’s why we’re here.
Imagine a bird that couldn’t fly? A fish that couldn’t swim?
It’s past time for us humans to understand and apply the purpose of our lives: the evolution of our consciousness and spirit towards love.
And there is no evolution without you working for it. It’s impossible to fix a hole in the roof if you don’t know where the hole is, right?
In the same way, we won’t be able to progress towards the light without being able to look at everything that lives within us that is in the opposite direction of love: anger, hatred, envy, arrogance, jealousy, the lack of faith that creates a desire to control everything and everyone.
Seek your courage, strength, and inexhaustible source of love that lives within you, not only to achieve goals and leave a legacy in the world.
Use them to leave a legacy for your soul, which will be the best legacy you can leave for the planet.
As Gandhi said:
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
