A great story gets told in ‘Eat Your Heart Out’ Vol 1
It is always fun reading graphic novels. They can help bring many different stories to life and take readers on some thrilling adventures. When I heard about Eat Your Heart Out Vol 1 I thought it might be a good book to read. I was able to get a digital copy of this graphic novel and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Eat Your Heart Out Vol 1 here:
Blanca is running away. Away from her mother—the overbearing and strict Reina—and her mother’s narrow idea of what shape Blanca’s life should take. While Reina finds Blanca’s dream of pursuing fashion design a wasteful flight of fancy, Blanca sees possibility . . . and she knows if she doesn’t leave now, she might never.
Of course, following your passion isn’t easy, and when Blanca arrives in New York City without a job or a roof over her head, she’s rescued by a kindly baker named Emile, who takes her in. With Emile comes his eclectic group of roommates, all living in the same brownstone, who welcome Blanca into their weird, wonderful world. Together, Blanca and her new chosen family discover that love and encouragement are key ingredients in the recipe for making your dreams come true.
I had a hard time putting this graphic novel down. Right away we see a teen make a big decision, to move far away from home to pursue their dream job. Things start off a bit rough, but get better once she makes a new friend. She gets to stay with them and their roommates and it looks like a great place to help make her dreams a reality. They get to attend some great parties and learn more about the people they live with. Yet as this graphic novel comes to a close it seems this story is far from over.
Eat Your Heart Out Vol 1 is available now. You can order this graphic novel on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble and on Bookshop.
