There’s Nothing Left to Say Anymore — And Everything to Do

Consider this essay an agonized primal scream of… what? Frustration? Horror? Rage? Grief? Immense disappointment? How about all of them together, rolled into one vast, endless nightmare?

We humans talk and talk, think and analyze, write and write, and strive and strive — yet we never seem to learn, grow, or grow up. For a so-called ‘rational species’ — homo sapiens, ‘wise man’ (sic) ha-ha — we usually think and act far more irrationally and brutally than any animal.

Even vicious animal predators only kill when they have to in order to eat and survive — but humans kill for sport, kill for pleasure, and often kill each other over differing ideas and beliefs. It’s truly amazing: we harass and kill each other over cherished mental constructs that aren’t even real. What… the… bleep?!

Now, here we are in the supposedly ‘advanced’ 21st century — and we’re all stranded yet again in disaster-land. It’s 2025, yet the world is increasingly trapped in a vile, destructive hybrid of the Gilded Age and the 1930s. The robber barons and oligarchs have taken over, big time, and their fascist hordes are seizing control.

The rapid rise of the greed-heads, liars, and power addicts

Democracy is on the ropes, all over the world, while autocracy, fascism, and authoritarianism prosper. How the fuck did we get here — again?

Well, I’m not going there, this time. I’m not going to carefully ‘explain’ anything or investigate and look for ‘answers.’ Why? Because there aren’t any! We talk and talk, write and write, think and analyze… etc., etc. — but now the time for words and polite ‘explanations’ and entreaties is over.

The fucking morons, greed-heads, lying liars, and power addicts are taking over fast — and the rest of us are left in the lurch and either stranded or, worse, trampled. All across the world, humans are busily replaying some of the worst horrors of the 20th century — or any century. We’re busily creating a nightmare combination of the Gilded Age, fascism, Nazism, and hi-tech surveillance.

Whoopee! Yay us! Humanity has once again (dependably) proven itself unbelievably stupid and irredeemable. Here we go again — whoopee!

Or rather… fuck these goddamned idiots and hateful, greedy assholes who are destroying everything, taking what they want, and giddily wrecking our nascent ‘civilization’ — again.

Fuck this shit!

Any remaining social stability is being undermined and destroyed

It’s really true — the time for desperate analysis and ‘explanations’ is over. Been there, done that. Despite all our ‘excellent’ analyses and endless attempts to ‘wake folks up’ to what’s happening, nothing has changed, the horrors and brutality continued, and most of us — the vast majority — kept sleepwalking into disaster.

That’s apparently ‘the way of the world,’ or at least the way of humanity. Now we’re right back to the vicious, hateful ‘dog-eat-dog’ world that’s preferred by the most primitive among us — and these noxious, angry primitives are again in total control.

Now, there’s nothing left for us to do except resist and fight. The time for patience and reasoned explanations is over. It’s not what we wanted, at all, and it’s sure not where we expected to be in our lives at this point. Yet, here we are — and there’s nothing left to do except actively resist and fight for a somewhat sane future.

Our carefully constructed social and political systems are crumbling around us, and the crafty, greedy, and power-hungry are sweeping in everywhere and seizing power. It’s happening even and especially in the once-great United States, the vaunted ‘land of the free.’ Ha! How the mighty U.S. has fallen!

Welcome to the resistance

The systems and laws that were set up to protect us and promote peace and true civilization are all failing — fast. In the process, caring, thoughtful humans are becoming an endangered species while hate and fear rule the roost. It’s all coming apart, people.

The only thing left to do is to hang on to our humanity, decency, and inner moral compass for dear life — and fight to overcome the powers of darkness that are engulfing our world.

There’s nothing else left to us anymore. There’s no ‘comfortable’ path forward. Suddenly, the idea of being ‘freedom fighters’ has a new urgency — born of civilizational collapse and our increasingly desperate circumstances.

Here’s the grim truth: for the foreseeable future, Resistance ‘R’ Us.
