‘Twas the farce before Christmas, when all through the House,
Mike Johnson’s imperiled, cause Musk is a louse.
To fill his red clown car with fools on the Hill,
Should now watch the cartoon how laws come from bills.
Trump’s honeymoon is over before he’s installed,
As is the building of his infernal wall.
Donning hats and long neckties of deep MAGA red,
If our country continues this way our democracy will be dead.
These red hats and ties as brown shirts of old,
If this has not yet occurred to you it will soon enough unfold.
His cabinet’s in doubt since his choices suck,
To refill the deep swamp with additional muck.
Melania said Christmas she gives not a f*ck,
That’s great for we people and that’s our fine luck.
Stockings stuffed with coal are given to the poor,
As oligarchs’ wealth triples while more is in store.
Empty seats at tables of kids killed by guns,
As lobbyists pay leaders with their blood money funds.
When far from the melee we heard such a flack,
Our allies complaining the U.S. out of whack.
Away to the Mideast, to Europe, Australia.
Flew Blinken to make nice while elections here a failure.
Litigious Trump a liar, a hater, a crank,
To toss J-6 committee right into the tank.
More lawyers to hire, more people to blame,
As Trump when he shouts while calling these names:
“Now Thompson! Now Cheney!
Now, Lofgren, Aguillar!
On, Murphy! On, Raskin!
Aluria, Schiff, Kinzinger!
Get thee to the courthouse and sit at your trial,
These traitors of the people every inch of the mile.
Trump goes after enemies: the immigrant, the Left,
Trans people, and Muslims, queer couples, the press.
He’ll free all his friends, the rioters he loves,
His morals are distorted, no peace and no doves.
Supreme Court hates women, trans people, their choices.
Trump’s nominees deleted the people’s true voices.
I know we’re all weary of Trump’s constant drama,
And we wish for the times of no drama Obama.
But we will move strong throughout the long-term,
To keep what we’ve gotten and to never return.
America’s never been a great nation, though still it could be,
When we stand up for a home of the brave and the land of the free.
We shall be courageous with heart and intent,
We’ll all stand united, that’s what now is meant.
Light a candle for democracy,
Light a candle for our rights,
Light a candle for our planet,
And light a candle for our fight.
Happy country to all, and to all, a good four years ahead.
