Once, I heard a story about a priest who, already very ill, when asked about his lamentable state of health, with great wisdom, took responsibility for it himself. I strongly believe that no matter what choices we make, consequences will follow, and we will need to face them head-on. Everything in life has a price to be paid, and there’s no escaping that reality.
You are entirely free to do with your life what you deem right. But never forget a great truth: Every choice implies gains and sacrifices. You will need to live with them. Accept it.
I have noticed, in the small details of my daily life, that many situations we go through are attracted by ourselves.
A heart tired from so many worries and anguish throughout life will eventually develop some sort of deficiency. A mind too preoccupied will need care in the future. Unresolved frustrations can lead to a beautiful gastritis.
Therefore, as difficult as life may seem at this moment, learn to live with it. Learn to deal with your feelings. Add a little more lightness to your days. Take a deep breath and understand that everything passes. It always will.
Just have faith and do your part for everything to be resolved. And then, my friend, just relax. Don’t beat yourself up with unnecessary dramas. Don’t create even more problems for your poor head. See the obstacle as a step, which will take you to a higher level. It will give you more wisdom, make you more humble, more respectful, more humane.
I’m not saying that if we seek to live better, we will be free from life’s own struggles. No. Not at all. But I guarantee you it will be much easier if you realize that we don’t have control over everything. And we don’t need to have it to be happy.
Just do our part for destiny to work in our favor. Seek peace, and it will find you.
Buddha once said that our suffering occurs because we resist things. And I have to tell you something.
Whatever resists, persists. It persists, mainly by taking over your thoughts. Limiting your ability to reason and how you will act in life. Don’t let your mind control you. Discover that you can be and are much stronger than anything else. That you can do and achieve everything you desire.
We resist changes of all kinds. Everything generates a certain rejection within us. After all, what takes us out of our comfort zone sends shivers down our spine.
I see many women who wouldn’t disclose their age under torture and become extremely irritated if someone finds it out. Gentlemen who don’t accept their slightly limited condition and rebel against everything and everyone. Children who are shocked to realize that their parents are getting old and that from now on, the roles will be reversed. People who panic at the thought of changing schools, colleges, homes, or cities. Who don’t allow themselves to get sick. Who don’t admit their fragility in the face of life.
There is so much resistance that there is no room for what is good to prevail.
Because, believe me, there will always be a good side. Always.
Just accept it. Take a deep breath and accept it. Changes will arise. Some good and some not so much. Problems will appear. But you only have two options: Accept or make room for the negativity of eternal worry and complaint to take over.
And I pray for the world to be filled with people who choose the first option. Who face life as it is. Who seek a lighter life. Who look for their joys and not for difficulties. Who complain less and thank more.
