Jamie Reidy shares a hilarious essay on the opposite of “attachment parenting” by Sarah Maizes.
I am so pissed I didn’t think of this first. But maybe that’s because I’m not an, uh, parent.
Regardless, thanks to the Today show and MSNBC.com, I can marvel in the genius of Sarah Maizes.
“Attachment Parenting” is so last week. All that bonding, baby-wearing and breastfeeding? Done. Over. So passé. I am developing a new parenting style of my own – one I am confident will yield a future world leader, a captain of industry, or at least a fairly enthusiastic therapy candidate. I call it “Detachment Parenting,” and it’s the wave of the future.
Don’t you wish you’d thought of that???

Thank you, Jamie! You made my day!!
Love this! Apparently, no one was reading Time which is exactly why the editors published it. It was like dumping gasoline all over a simmering fire and then throwing a match on it. We all know what you get. A hell of an explosion. And we all proved we were lemmings. Meanwhile, all of the marketing executives and editors are high fiving each other backstage. I talk about the end of my role as a lemming here:
