When you live by the words of affirmations of others, you will die by their criticisms. Life can be so weighty when you live by the weight of others opinions/feelings. So what drives you? What is your motivation? How do you re-fuel yourself? Those questions are pivotal for when you address hanging on the weight of other’s thoughts about you. The best remedy for this is to study yourself, spend more time by yourself. When you spend time by yourself, you can begin to validate your own existence instead of letting others do it for you. When you shine light on yourself instead of waiting for others to approve of you, you start to glow differently. When your self esteem isn’t dictated by what your partner, friends, job, or family thinks about you, you will discover a new level of freedom.
You may have been that person that lives vicariously through others and their experiences. Maybe you’ve been the type of person that depends on other people to go and do things… Let this be your sign, don’t wait for others to live your life for you. Clap for yourself, every step of the way. If you’ve spent your entire life waiting for someone to tell you that thing that you’ve been dying to hear…. TELL IT TO YOURSELF! Approve of yourself and watch your life unfold. When you give yourself what you need instead of waiting for others, you will also begin to thrive. When you fill up your own cup, you will be invigorated in a way that will have your entire being light up. Make yourself, the priority. You’re that damn important to be number one on your list. Give to yourself.
Validate your own existence. You’re worthy and that worth is not contingent upon anyone else. You’re just Worthy. Let that sink in especially if you aren’t familiar with having that phrase hit you. Take note of what feelings come up, embrace them. Having your own self concept that isn’t defined by who you are to someone else is necessary for your elevation. Reclaim your life. Take your power back. Date yourself. Take those trips. Day Dream. Do the things that you really want to do. Be compassionate with self. Enjoy the simple things. Find the somethings that make you want to race out of bed in the morning or linger there. Savor every morsel of life. As long as you have air in your lungs, it is never too late to re-build. Tear down the walls that others have built where they defined you. Read all the books. Try new things. Explore. This life has so much to offer you. Don’t die at the hands of what someone thinks about you before you get to experience it. Set yourself free. Be yourself, show up authentically. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be liked, the issue may lie in how you behave when things don’t go as you hope. Find yourself. Grow yourself. Nurture yourself. Smash approval addiction.
