He’s not the only one taking hits—reporter Kaitlan Collins was banned from an event last week—but Acosta has gotten the most vitriol, for whatever reason. Earlier this week, he was heckled while reporting from a rally in Florida where the President was rambling about all sorts of things, in addition to ostensibly campaigning for Rep. Ron DeSantis, a candidate for governor. Afterward, Acosta tweeted: “I’m very worried that the hostility whipped up by Trump and some in conservative media will result in somebody getting hurt. We should not treat our fellow Americans this way. The press is not the enemy.” Eric Trump disagreed, and posted a clip of the aforementioned heckling — which mostly consisted of people yelling “CNN sucks” — by adding the caption “#Truth @Acosta.” Daddy Don liked that reaction enough to retweet it to the world. On Thursday, Acosta asked Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders if she, too, believes the press is the enemy of the people. She refused to answer directly, and Acosta walked out. Over the past seven days, @Acosta has a 65 percent positive score on Twitter. @realDonaldTrump had 37 percent positives over the same time period. –Alex Shultz
