Life’s like a road that you travel on
There’s one day here and the next day gone
Welcome to a special Wednesday edition of Music Monday. Actually, it’s doubly special, because not only is it a Music Monday post on a Wednesday, it’s also my last post as a resident of Buffalo, NY.
That’s right, the trailer is mostly packed and Wednesday morning I will rise from my sleeping bag on the hardwood floor and attempt to stand. I will (of course) fail miserably because I packed up 90% of my possessions without the aid of anyone. That means that A) I have no friends around here and B) I tried to find someone to pay $50 to help me and was stiffed. In this economy that’s a flat out sin.
I’m rolling down to Maryland for a few hours chillin wit Da Muse, then through West Virginia (shudder), Kentucky (slightly less frightening shudder), through St. Louis, on into New Mexico, probably through Laughlin, NV/Bullhead City, AZ, then arriving in the LBC, home of Snoop Dogg, Sublime and J.R. I will admit that the Dogfather and Sublime have slightly more street cred than I do, but that’s cool. I’m working on mine and shit.
Going cross country with a teenage girl and a snoring dog is probably gonna suck some major ass, but fear not, for I will keep you informed and entertained. If you’ll excuse me, it’s 12:28 AM and I need to attempt to fall asleep on a very hard floor.
P.S. The Rascal Flatts video is great, but I have to go old school with this one. I was a teen in the ’80’s. Crusaders like a mo fo, yo.
P.S.S. Dude, I love your song, but your hair is beyond douchy. Seriously.

Be safe bro! His hair is indeed douchey!
I like the suggestion about doing something weird every time you cross over a state line although I’d suggest just flooring it when you get to Kentucky. Safe travels, yo! I’m sure the LBC hasn’t been the same without you. 🙂
Wife and I went from St. Louis to Colorado for our honeymoon a few years back. She made the mistake of saying “I’ll drive through Kansas if you drive everything else.” DEAL!!!! She didn’t follow through on the way back tho. One drive through Kansas is enough for anyone…
the only traveling song!!
please be safe
play lots of “I Spy”
Let DQ control the music once in awhile AND don’t complain
do something weird every time you cross over a state line
Never pass up anything that states, “World’s Largest…”
Eat at Arthur Bryant’s in KC & the Owl Cafe in Albuquerque
Pick me up along the way
be well, my friend! This is a great thing for you!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a really safe trip JR! Let us know when you get there so we don’t have to worry about you two… Enjoy the adventure!
Good Luck and stay safe!
That’s a good song. Very fitting for you.
Have a safe trip!
You going to just levitate over Kansas? I would if I were you….
Kickass song BTW….love the Tom Cochrane version, although Rascal Flatts did do a good job on the remake.
Have a safe trip!
🙂
