Scott Simon, a radio host for NPR, spent much of the last week tweeting about his ailing mother’s time in a hospital. He gained attention and support for his heartfelt tweets thanking nurses and as his mother’s health worsened.
I lost my father a few weeks before Mr. Simon’s mother. Reading his sweet tweets reminds me of theast time dad spoke to me, his last days in the hospital, and the nights I spent holding his hand, wishing we could talk one more time.

Every single one of them left a lump in my throat. How I miss my mum, and there is no place better than being with your mum. I have to admit, that I was a mommie’s boy and big boys do cry.

The last few tweets were so cathartic I teared up. Just one more reason why I am so happy to have my mother in my life

Me too Josh. Me too. The honesty that the most dramatic parts of life bring out is touching and it reminds you to be honest in all parts of life.
