Unraveled

A tightly wound rope
Every thread in its place
Every braid the utmost fluid
Every compartment
Every feeling
Finds it place
And looks just right
I can hold
I can endure
Everything is tight
That is the definition of Right
But then the threads find larger lives
Than just that of the same old rope
Other threads are majestic
Finding a home in a tapestry
Other threads are stable
Forming beautiful ribbons
Other threads adorn
Illuminating brighter things
Other threads are structured
Mental order more than physical
So much life of that rope
Was to turn back on itself
Twisting into circles
Tying into knots
Collapsing into a heap
God must want me here
I lack the strength to be free
Pausing
Sighing
Quitting
Failing
But suddenly finding a beautiful woman
Whose purpose is to free
Mary Undoer of Knots
You unwound every place in me
Teaching me new feelings
I was afraid to feel before
Showing me it is safe
To be authentic
To be as bright or as serene as I like
To trust you when I don’t trust myself
And I am undone
I am unraveled
It is not a mess to feel so much
Eventually it learns to be beautiful
Just like you
My Lady
My Help
Helping me to Got This
Even before I believed you were true
And now I admire you
And every glory that you are
To Jesus through Mary
Such a happy truth
I’ve got this.
