Have you ever loved someone so much you let them break you, just to feel alive? “i did”
They warned me about her.
Not with words, but with the way their eyes changed when her name came up.
You know that look people get when they’re about to say, “Run”, but they decide to just let you learn the hard way? Yeah. That’s the look.
The first time I saw her; she wasn’t even trying. No makeup. Hair tied back like she couldn’t be bothered. And yet, the whole damn room rearranged itself around her.
She didn’t walk in — she arrived.
I didn’t fall for her. I crashed into her.
The kind of crash you don’t walk away from.
It wasn’t love, not at first. It was obsession in a silk dress, temptation with soft lips, and the kind of laugh that could both save and ruin you in the same second.
She wasn’t a safe place — she was a warning sign. And I was tired of being safe.
With her, I learned something ugly about myself:
I didn’t want peace.
I wanted passion.
I wanted the arguments at 3 a.m. that ended with kisses against the wall.
I wanted the kind of love that made me feel alive even when it was killing me.
And she… oh, she knew how to kill.
Not with knives. With silence.
With walking away mid-sentence just to see if I’d chase.
With telling me she loved me, then disappearing for days.
With giving me a taste of heaven, then slamming the gates shut.
People talk about red flags like they’re something you spot from a distance. No.
Red flags are beautiful when you’re close enough. They look like art.
And I didn’t want to step back to see the danger.
I let her destroy me. Piece by piece. And the messed-up part?
I thanked her for it.
Because for a moment, I got to feel everything at once — joy, pain, fear, lust, love — all tangled into something I still can’t name.
I don’t hate her.
I can’t.
You don’t hate the storm for wrecking your home.
You stand there in the ruins, bleeding and barefoot, whispering, “Do it again.”
And if she ever came back?
God help me…
I’d open the door.
