Good morning.
As AI and related terms become part of our day to day vocabulary, it’s only natural that we begin to acknowledge them and so here’s a list from Collin’s dictionary of some new and notable words that reflect our ever-evolving language — beginning of course with the word of the year, Vibe Coding
🚀 Vibe Coding
Vibe Coding is the use of Artificial Intelligence, prompted by natural language, to assist with writing computer code. It was coined by AI pioneer, Andrej Karpathy, former director of AI at Tesla, and founding engineer at OpenAI, to describe creating an app with AI help.
🚀 Clanker
Clanker is a close runner up, and used for computers, robots, or sources of AI, popularised by Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It’s often used to express people’s frustrations with AI, chatbots and platforms.
🚀 Broligarchy
For Broligachy, think broism plus oligarchy. The word describes the rule of government by a select few extremely wealthy men in leadership positions — mainly in tech and tech-enabled businesses. A certain ‘banger’ of a meeting comes to mind, where we’ve just approved the largest ever pay packet in corporate history. Pls note, there’s no #sisligarchy(yet!)
🚀 Biohacking
Biohacking is when we alter the natural processes of our body in an attempt to improve health and longevity. As Novo Nordisk (DKK) and Pfizer (PFE) dig deep into their pockets, to bid for Metsera (MTSR), the obesity biotech, we’re seeing a slice of this in action.
🚀 AuraFarming
AuraFarming is when you cultivate a distinctive and charismatic persona — essentially the art of looking cool. A form of manifesting I suppose.
🚀 HENRY
HENRY is an acronym for ‘high earner, not rich yet.’ I suppose it’s the single version of the 𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐘 couple, DINKY meaning ‘Double income, no kids.’ On that note, I note that HSBC has lust launched a new mortgage product that offers mortgages up to 6.5X salary — and reading details, I felt that HENRY could be the target client! Perhaps HSBC could rebrand that as HSBC HENRY MORTGAGE, or HENRIETTA 🙂
🚀 Glaze
Glaze is a term of disapproval associated with praising or flattering someone excessively or undeservedly.
As you can see, the words capture how we’re evolving as a race, our deepening relationship with technology, and of course, the role of social media. When you take a moment to comprehend the depth and breadth of human evolution, you realise that you have much to learn, just to be able to stay still.
