These two really, really good looking models are back for another zany adventure
It has been many years since we have seen Zoolander and his friend Hansel. Fans really enjoyed the first movie that came out in 2001 and now their prayers are being answered because a sequel is coming next year. The first trailer has dropped and here is what we know from it.
Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel McDonald (Owen Wilson) are still models but sadly they are no longer on top. The world of modeling has changed a lot and they find themselves without purpose in their lives. But when some of the worlds most beautiful people begin to be assassinated and each one sports Zoolander’s iconic “Blue Steel” look on their face it is clear something bad is going on. Interpol decides to recruit Derek and Hansel and wants them to infiltrate this new world of fashion to find out who is responsible for these deaths and stop them before more people get killed. Valentina (Penelope Cruz) is the one who recruits them but she is not always sure if they are the right men for the job. Meanwhile Mugatu (Will Ferrell) gets released from prison but it is not clear what his role in this movie is just yet. Who is the person who is causing all of these beautiful people to die? Why are they killing all of these people? And will Derek and Hansel find a way to stop them in time?
The trailer is not bad. It has some silly moments but this is what made the first film so wonderful. It is clear that Derek and Hansel are not sure how to live in this modern world but they are glad to being working together again. This writer really enjoyed the last movie and is personally eager to see this sequel when it comes out. We get to see a few new characters show up who are there for comedic relief and it is also clear that Derek’s son has grown up a good amount since we last saw him. It was great to see Mugatu again and who knows what his role will be in this new adventure.
If you enjoyed Zoolander than you must watch this trailer. If you are a fan of silly comedies than this is a trailer that is sure to make you laugh a lot. Zoolander 2 comes out February 12, 2016.
