Justin Timberlake shaving with a chainsaw. Bradley Cooper eating cereal without a bowl. Sean Penn ironing a grilled cheese. Jamie Foxx opening a beer with a remote. Ashton Kutcher throwing away socks. The Old Spice guy walking around a parking lot blindfolded.
What do all these things make you think of?
Yes! The outrage that is underage sex trafficking!
Everyone’s favorite age-is-just-a-number couple, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, have launched a campaign against the very real problem of underage sex trafficking. The Demi and Ashton Foundation has released a number of celebrity-filled PSAs, which, as Kutcher said, go for “that offbeat feel of Funny or Die.”
Shockingly, that might not’ve been the best way to go.
The intentions are good, sure. It’s great that they’re recognizing the problem, but the ads make it seem like Demi and Ashton made them just to show everyone that they were still cool and hip—not just some old married couple. These tell me absolutely nothing about child slavery. Hell, I wouldn’t even know what the ads were about if I didn’t read some context before watching them. If anything, they’re sort of making light of the problem.
Check out all of the videos here.

Ummm….the ads didn’t say that a normal expression of masculinity was having sex with children.
And child sex trafficking isn’t just some “hysterical” movement. It’s a huge black market industry that remains to be a kind of “taboo” to even talk about. But it’s huge. With the advent of the internet, the industry has really grown more.

Do you read the link I posted?
And sex trafficking hysteria is being used in many countries to attack prostitution between adults, just like the craig list fraud, this one for example. The site connected to the video is pushing the same figures used in the craigs list fraud, which the legitimate human trafficking people say are bogus.
Yes, I read it Mr.K. I understand your concern specifically toward Craigslist and it’s freedom of speech being impended do to an unscientific study that only proved that this website ”may or may not” have been providing easy access to underaged people for sexual means. I don’t agree with them having to shut down a service necessarily even if I think that service is gross myself. However, if the pictures of the women (girls?) posted were young enough looking to even question their age, and men were reaching out to those women (girls?), I think that’s worth looking at. It’s… Read more »
Erin Obviously there is such a thing as trafficking as the fbi link confirms, but that doesn’t make the lies that womens/feminist groups are telling us about it to defraud money out of us, or using it as a trojan horse to attack prostitution between adults any less of a scam. “Women’s Funding Network Sex Trafficking Study Is Junk Science Schapiro Group data wasn’t questioned by mainstream media. “In fact, the group behind the study admits as much. It’s now clear it used fake data to deceive the media and lie to Congress. And it was all done to score… Read more »
Yeah they are pushing bogus information on their site.
Looks like these celebs have been duped into supporting a bogus cause by the same anti-prostitution lobby that shut down the sex trade between adults on the strength of child sex trafficking hysteria.

Its hateful and misleading to suggest that normal expressions of masculinity are having sex with children in the first place..
Yay !
Telling men how to be “a REAL MAN”.
As if there aren’t enough of those already.
Yeah, the ads are strange. We culturally tend to call grown women “girls” too. I thought the ad was about real men not buying prostitutes at first, not underaged girls. Although I don’t think it’s so much a commentary on Demi and Ashton trying to be cool as it is trying to appeal to a demographic that might not spend too much time thinking about sex trafficking, men. So they went for that Axe commerical humor that a certain group of men do respond to. Threw in a sexy Eva Longoria at the end asking if “you’re a real man”,… Read more »
These things have been shown to be based on fraud anyway, the figures that were used to connect both craigs list and the superbowl to child sex trafficking have been debunked.
Well Jayne, I work in the law enforcement and I can tell you the kidnapping, drugging, raping, and beating of minors is very real. If you would do more research, it’s a billiion dollar industry and is replacing drug dealing because it’s harder to prove “sex trafficking” more so than drug dealing. Have you noticed law enforcement doesn’t arrest the “johns” or the “pimps”…? So lets say the minor survives the trauma, (no parents around usually who care or are too busy using drugs), then the minor will get charged by the spineless District Attorney for prostitution. NOw, the minor… Read more »
