The Kvetching Professor wonders a lot of things … especially while on hold waiting for customer service.
Such as: why do I have stay on hold for half a day waiting to speak to someone if your outgoing recording says my call is “so important?”
How can I truly trust the “expected wait time?”
What do I do with this periodic silence?
And don’t get me started on the on-hold “music!”
While my heart goes out to people who do customer service on phone lines, waiting to speak to someone can be utterly exasperating for the caller. I certainly don’t blame the employees on the other end of the line; and it must be hard for them when they speak to someone who’s been on hold for half an hour. But, as usual, I’ve tried to see the light side in all of this.
Listen in to this episode so you too can kvetch along with me.
