4. Garlic
Used for thousands of years as a folk remedy, the antibacterial properties and pain relieving properties of garlic can kill bad bacteria in your mouth as well.
5. Hydrogen peroxide
A drop or two, heavily diluted with water, can be administered as a mouthwash to bring some relief.
The ancient cure for burns and cuts can alleviate gum problems as well. Apply the gel and massage the area to make the most of the remedy.

Another natural remedy, which is known to have antioxidant and antibacterial properties, a few drops of thyme oil should be diluted heavily with water, soaked onto a cotton ball and rubbed onto the sore area for relief. To make a mouthwash of this, simply apply a drop or two into the water and swish it around.
