CNN is reporting that Sanford, Florida police chief Bill Lee has been fired.
“We need to move forward with a police chief that all the citizens of Sanford can support. I have come to this decision in light of the escalating divisiveness that has taken hold of the city.”
Turns out at Mr. Lee had submitted a letter of resignation in April, but it was not accepted.
Interim chief Richard W. Meyers will remain in his position until a new Chief is hired.
As you may remember, soon after the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, GMP Senior Editor Justin Cascio sent an open letter to then-Chief Bill Lee and received a response, which we published.

Wait, so instead of letting him resign and step down with dignity intact they get him to stay only to turn around and fire him?
WTF?
I can’t say I agree with him being fired if he made a letter of resignation that was rejected. hmm
if the police chief had been allowed to resign earlier. the flames could now be licking at the person immediately above him’s feet. instead they are just consuming the police chief
Its all a complete kowtow to racists who always get their way because of supposed “intolerance” held by whites. This country is screwed and glued.
