eCommerce is a growing market breaking new all-time highs every year. To learn a bit more about the state of the industry, we interview Albert Vaisman the Founder of Soxy to learn more about it and how it’s been changing.
1. What is your business?
I’m the founder of Soxy – a new kind of shopping platform which connects content and commerce into one seamless experience. We bring thousands of products and brands under one platform to make it easy to discover, compare, and shop.
Additionally, our magazine offers premium editorial content covering the latest fashion, style, and how-tos so people can become the best version of themselves.
2. How long have you been in eCommerce?
I’ve been in the eCommerce industry since 2013
3. Why did you start Soxy?
Every day, more products and brands are available online today than ever before. Our mission is to simplify the shopping experience for both brands and consumers by making it easy to shop thousands of brands and products all in one place.
4. How has the digital landscape changed over time?
The digital landscape is changing faster than ever before. For one, it’s never been easier to start your own online business selling a product, which is great overall. However, this creates more competition since the barrier of entry is so low and poses challenges for brands.
Every year the landscape changes, with rising ad costs, change in ad platforms, and overall consumer behavior means whatever worked 6 months ago may not work today. It’s important to always try new things for your business.
5 . What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone starting out in eCommerce?
Learn how to sell your product, and find the best marketing channel to do so. The most difficult thing you can do when starting a business is sell your product. Most often I see new entrepreneurs overlook the importance of building their sales & marketing skills when they first launch a business. I always suggest not to spend time perfecting the product or website, and focusing on getting your first 100 customers.
