Dear Mitt Romney,
I pay self-employment tax. That’s 15% right off the top, before personal exemption or standard deduction. I don’t make a whole lot of money, but I still have to cough up a fair amount of cash for self-employment tax even in those years I haven’t earned enough income to pay federal income tax. I agree with Romney. Everyone who makes any income at all should have to file and pay some amount of tax, however small.
