When you hear the phrase ‘personal injury law firm,’ several things may come to mind: high-stakes courtroom battles, in-depth knowledge of complicated statutes and legal procedures, tireless advocacy for clients who have been wronged, and above all, a fundamental pursuit for justice and fairness.
In this blend of legal acumen, compassionate service is what sets apart competent firms from truly exceptional ones. After all, when we speak about justice, the battle isn’t reserved exclusively for the courtrooms because they also happen in the broader community where the impact of courtroom battles is deeply felt.
One such exceptional firm is the LA-based Karns & Karns Personal Injury and Accident Attorneys, a personal injury and accident attorney team that embodies a holistic approach to law. Founded by brothers Michael and Bill Karns in 2014, the firm is known for its aggressive pursuit of justice for its clients and dedication to helping victims receive justice and compensation for their injuries.
Yet the firm’s commitment extends far beyond the courtroom, as its charitable endeavors add another dimension to its professional reputation.

“When we founded our firm, we based it on the core values of service, loyalty, integrity, and the belief that everyone deserves justice,” Michael Karns explains. While it might sound like a worn-out phrase, the dynamic brother-duo as well as the rest of their team truly believe in these values and fight tooth and nail to uphold them in and outside court.
The firm’s commitment to making a difference in the wider community is nowhere more evident than in its work with the Wounded Warrior Project. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a charity and veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs and events for injured veterans of military actions following the 9/11 events. It is a non-profit organization that covers multiple areas like mental health, physical health and wellness, career and benefits counseling, as well as other types of support for the most severely wounded.
In their collaboration with the WWP, Karns & Karns Personal Injury and Accident Attorneys have helped many families achieve justice. “This is something we take great pride in doing. We want to recognize and support those who have fought and continue to fight for our country, for justice, and for liberty day in and day out,” Bill Karns emphasizes.
One aspect of their project with the WWP is the joint effort with the 4 Paws 4 Patriots organization that pairs a disabled American veteran and an untrained dog and then trains them together to become a service dog team. The effort is able to not just save around 150 dogs per year but also create over 300 veteran-service dog teams annually.
Service dogs provide invaluable support to their humans, and their connection with veterans has proven to be especially powerful. One of the most significant benefits for veterans is the emotional support the dogs provide, as they can sense changes in their human partner’s emotional state and provide comfort and reassurance during difficult times.
On top of that, veterans who have experienced trauma or have conditions like PTSD often struggle with hyper-vigilance, so service dogs can be trained to create a safe space by providing a physical buffer between their human partner and the surrounding environment.
“We hope that we can provide even further help through our partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project and 4 Paws 4 Patriots, because we could see firsthand the countless benefits that the organizations have provided,” says Bill Karns. “As lawyers, we will always stand behind our community, especially our courageous veterans who have risked their lives for the sake of a safe future.”
Through their heartfelt desire to serve the community, whether through pro bono services or fundraising help, Karns and Karns Personal Injury and Accident Attorneys have reshaped the meaning of legal advocacy, one case and one cause at a time. As their partnership with charity organizations expands, the team behind Karns & Karns Personal Injury and Accident Attorneys hopes to make an even greater difference and help an even larger number of individuals across their homeland.
“Being able to help means the world to us. It’s an essential part of who we are as a firm. We have the resources and the platform, and we believe it’s our duty to use them to do as much good as we can.”
