Police were still searching for Robert McDonough when he walked into a news report about his own disappearance.
WMTV reporter Norm Karkos and his video crew were finishing up an early morning update on 73-year-old Robert McDonough who had been missing for more than 14 hours when McDonough himself walked up to them and identified himself to the news crew.
The crew immediately notified the Maine Warden Service who had been searching for McDonough, who reportedly suffers from dementia, throughout the night. McDonough had been reported missing by his family around 4 pm on Monday, and Karkos had been providing live reports on the search from the street where McDonough lives.
Karkos reports that McDonough “appeared to be in good condition,” although there did appear to be some blood on his hand.
