‘A Minecraft Movie’ is out now on Blu-Ray
I can’t say I have played Minecraft before. It is a widely popular video game that all ages have enjoyed. When news of a film came out, like many I had doubts if it would be good or not. Yet I was proven wrong and it ended up doing quite well in theaters. I was able to get a review copy of this movie and here is what I thought of it.

Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

Overall I enjoyed watching this movie again. It is silly as all heck, but that is part of what makes it fun to watch. There is tons of action, and many times it is over the top. Yet the story is a great one and it is a joy to watch it unfold. Once this adventure comes to a close, life for these characters will be changed forever. ‘Creepers, Zombies and Endermen Oh My!’ looks at the different mobs we see in the video game and the work that was put in to do them justice in this film. ‘Block Beats’ reveals the process of making the songs for this movie and even shows one that ended up on the cutting room floor.
