‘A Minor Fall’ Takes readers on a depressing journey
I have read a good amount of books lately. They have taken me to all kinds of different places. Recently I have been reading more thrillers. When I heard about A Minor Fall, I was looking forward to reading it. It wasn’t what I expected it to be. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for A Minor Fall here:
A Minor Fall is a frightening, sometimes humorous, account of the emotional and moral paralysis that beset this well-intentioned young man when he is called upon to account for his actions and make a difficult decision. As the story unfolds, the book also contemplates such existential matters as the nature of the law, the existence of God, and the virtues of single malt scotch.
I was not a fan of A Minor Fall. The story wasn’t that strong for starters. Many chapters began without any acknowledgement of who was talking at that time. It sometimes took me a while to figure this out, which got frustrating pretty fast. The story was also rather depressing. The main character was a coward, and only seemed to make many peoples lives worse by his actions. Deep down he meant well, but did some things at the worst of times. The ending was also rather weak and did a bad job of closing this tale. Some people may like this book, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
