‘Green Lantern: Beware My Power’ is out now on 4K Ultra HD
I have enjoyed most of the DC animated movies. Catwoman: Hunted was a lot of fun to watch and had this burglar take on some dangerous foes. Injustice split the Justice League in two after something unthinkable happened. When I heard about Green Lantern: Beware My Power I hoped I might get a chance to watch it. I was able to get a review copy of this film and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Green Lantern Beware My Power here:
Recently discharged Marine sniper John Stewart is at a crossroads in his life, one which is only complicated by receiving an extraterrestrial ring which grants him the powers of the Green Lantern of Earth. Unfortunately, the ring doesn’t come with instructions – but it does come with baggage, like a horde of interplanetary killers bent on eliminating every Green Lantern in the universe. Now, with the aid of the light-hearted Green Arrow, Adam Strange and Hawkgirl, this reluctant soldier must journey into the heart of a galactic Rann/Thanagar war and somehow succeed where all other Green Lanterns have failed.
I had a great time watching this animated movie. We see life for John change pretty fast, and he isn’t sure he wants this at first. All he can think about is finding a way to get this ring off of him. Once he learns more about what is going on though he changes his mind about it. Just when it looks like a threat is stopped we see the true threat show itself, and taking them down won’t be easy. As this film comes to a close life for John Stewart will never be the same. ‘John Stewart: The Power and the Glory’ told the history of how this character came to be and why this character is more relevant now than ever before.
Green Lantern: Beware My Power is available now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and Digital.
