‘American Gods: The Complete Series’ is out now on DVD
American Gods turned out to be a really good show. I will admit season 1 was a tad confusing at first, but started to make sense towards the end. Lots of shocking things got revealed about some characters during season 2. We saw Shadow go their own way on season 3 as they ran into more mysterious characters. Now this entire series is coming out on DVD. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.

Set in a hidden world where magic is real and gods exist on earth, this show chronicles the brewing war between Old Gods and New Gods, as the traditional gods of mythology are steadily losing believers to a burgeoning pantheon of modern gods focused on technology and money.
The story across three seasons centers around ex-convict Shadow Moon, bodyguard for the mysterious Mr. Wednesday, an Old God trying to rebuild the power and influence the Old Gods once had.
As events unfold and Shadow struggles with his identity and place in the world, this show examines humanity’s conflicted relationship with faith and the unknown.
I had a lot of fun watching this show again. Season 1 made more sense this time, as did the path season 2 was taking me on. Watching it all come together at the end of season 3 was equal parts exciting and thrilling. The special features take viewers on plenty of amazing behind the scenes adventures. Fans of this show will want to pick this box set up.
