Fry asks the Professor for help in ‘Beef’
Futurama is one of my favorite shows. Each season has been a true joy to watch and has had this crew go on some insane journeys together. The show has been cancelled a few times but each time it comes back it is better than it was before. When I heard a season 14 was coming out I couldn’t wait to watch it. I was able to get a screener for ‘Beef’ and here is my thoughts on this episode.

The Professor must create lab-grown meat so Fry can compete in the world hotdog-eating championship.

This was a very well done episode. We learn many years ago Fry competed in a hot dog eating contest, and lost to a tough opponent. He feels like maybe he could win this time, but that ends up being impossible because hot dogs have changed since his time. The Professor agrees to help him out but the first few times things don’t go the way Fry hoped they would. Once it seems like things are going well and the contest is coming back, Fry is sure he can win. The appearance of a surprise challenger is a shock to everyone and makes winning tougher than Fry ever thought it would be. As this episode nears the end something occurs which nobody could have seen coming.
