Watch how this family spends the holidays in ‘Christmas 1972’
I am impressed with The Kids are Alright so far. It is certainly a different show, and I think that is what I like about it. You don’t see a show like this everyday. The characters are pretty likable, and the stories are rather funny. When I heard about ‘Christmas 1972’ I couldn’t wait to see it. I was able to get a screener of this episode and this is what I thought of it.
You can read the premise for ‘Christmas 1972’ here:
When Peggy’s successful brother, Tom, drops in for Christmas, Mike immediately oozes with jealousy. Thus begins Mike’s one-sided competition with Tom, using his kids as pawns to help. After Tom gives the Clearys an extravagant Christmas gift, pride prevents Mike from taking it – putting him at odds with the rest of the family. Meanwhile, Timmy mistakenly receives $100 from his great-aunt for Christmas and contemplates whether he should do “the right thing” or keep it. Elsewhere, Eddie forgets to get Wendi a Christmas present and panic sets in.
‘Christmas 1972’ was a pretty good holiday episode. It started rather simple, and yet things did get wacky pretty quickly. It seemed a mistake was made, and it put Timmy in a moral dilemma. Meanwhile, the family gets offered a great gift but Mike’s pride won’t let him accept it. The kids sneak off to enjoy it, and in an odd way it brings them together. As it comes to a close, Peggy helps Mike get past his pride and do something good for the family. If you have liked this show so far then this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
