The powerful tale ‘Rogue One’ fills gaps in the Star Wars story
Star Wars is a very popular series with a huge fan base. There have been movies, TV shows, cartoons, comics, graphics novels and books that all expand on this amazing narrative. Yet a film like Rogue One has never been made before. It was a big risk, but it paid off handsomely. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Rogue One here:
Former scientist Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen) lives on a farm with his wife and young daughter Jyn. His peaceful existence comes crashing down when the evil Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) takes him away from his beloved family. Many years later, Galen is now the Empire’s lead engineer for the most powerful weapon in the galaxy, the Death Star. Knowing that her father holds the key to its destruction, a vengeful Jyn (Felicity Jones) joins forces with a spy and other resistance fighters to steal the space station’s plans for the Rebel Alliance.
I really enjoyed watching Rogue One on Blu-Ray. ‘The Stories’ gives an amazing in-depth look at the making of this film. It is broken into many chapters, each one sharing an aspect of this movie. Some go into the making of the characters, give behind the scenes interviews with the cast, and others delve into the work put into bringing the worlds to life. If you are a fan of Star Wars then this is a movie you will want to own. If you want to learn more about Rogue One click on this website.
